New Old Knack Tracks

Now playing on TheKnacK Facebook BandPage: “Come A Little Bit Closer,” recorded live at the Whisky A Go Go (The Knack’s first public gig, ever), June 1, 1978; digitized and remastered by long-time Knack collaborator, Richard Bosworth.

Anyone who ever got to see The Knack live will tell you that they were one of the greatest club bands of all time. That’s why after they were signed to Capitol, producer Mike Chapman basically brought them to the studio, turned on the mics and just let them play. They didn’t need the extra polish of excessive production for their music to soar. Their playing was already as tight as you could ever get it.

Stashed away in Doug Fieger’s tape archives we have located some real treasures, among them recordings of The Knack’s earliest rehearsals and club gigs, like this one at the Whiskey. Over the next few months we hope to put together a full collection of some of these tracks.

To listen to this new release just “Like” The KnacK on Facebook.

And for more treasures just stay tuned.
